Christmas Plates

I always spend a lot of time in my kitchen, but never more so than during the holidays. As a result, it’s important to me that my kitchen look just as decked out for Christmas as the living room and hallways. One of my favorite ways to do this is by displaying Christmas plates. Not only are they beautiful on the walls and counters, but they are also functional.

Christmas plates make wonderful collector’s items and family heirlooms. Some designers put out a new holiday design each year just for this purpose. I’ve grown to treasure my collection and look forward to displaying them each year.

That said, I’ve never been one that believes in saving my beautiful items. I use them as well. This has resulted in a few having to be glued back together, but what is the point of having beautiful things if you don’t use them? Platters make for gorgeous appetizer displays and smaller Christmas plates can act as chargers or decorative top plates. When you set your table, set these on top of the dinner plates and pick them up just before the first course is served. They are so pretty you will want to set your table well before the actual gathering.

Below are a few of my favorite Christmas plates as well as examples of my own displays. Don’t forget to also check out our favorite holiday wrapping papers as well as the rustic wreaths we fell in love with this year. And subscribe to stay on top of all of our holiday preparation tips.
